DUGONG:

Also known as: Dugong dugon, or sea cow

Class of endanger: VULNERABLE

Description: Dugongs are slow moving creatures found at the bottom of the sea. They are very shy, which makes them vulnerable to sharks and other predators. Dugongs eat sea grass, which is very nutritious to them. Abroriginals have a right to hunt dugongs, due to tradition. However, any other person is not allowed to touch dugongs.
